PSC Module: Defaults File This file lists all default parameters that appear on the DEFAULTS tab of the PSC dialog box. You may add your own default parameters to this list and they will automatically be inserted onto this tab. INSTRUCTIONS The following rules must be adhered to when adding (or deleting) parameters to/from this list. HEADINGS The headings in this file correspond to the six frame blocks that are on the DEFAULTS tab. The format of each frame heading is: !n xxxxxxx where "!" signifies that this record is a heading, "n" is the number of default parameters in the frame and "xxxxx.." is the frame description (with a maximum of 45 characters). If you wish to add a default parameter to one of the six frames on this tab (or delete a parameter) then the value of 'n' must be increased (or decreased) by 1. PARAMETER & VALUES Lines following the frame heading are assumed to represent a default parameter and have the following format: "Default variable name, Description, Default value, Units," (a) Variable Name This has the form: "DEF_xxxxxxx" where "xxxxxxx" represents the name of an existing (base) parameter. It must have already been defined in the Parameters List and must appear on at least one of the tabs in the module. It can only have a max- imum of 8 characters. If "xxxxxxxx" is not a valid parameter it will be ignored when the "Clear All" button on the Job ID tab is clicked. (b) Description The parameter description must not exceed the width of the frame. Note again that if you add a default parameter to one of the six frames on this tab (or delete a parameter) then the value of 'n' in the corresponding frame heading must be increased or decreased by 1. (c) Default Value Default values entered into the dialog box are displayed as text strings (not numbers). Consequently, any number of decimal places may be entered. For example, if you enter a value of 30.4567 it will be stored internally as “30.4567” and will be displayed as such when the defaults tab is next opened. How- ever, when the default values are inserted into their corresponding base parameters, they will be displayed and stored with the number of decimal places relevant to that parameter as defined in the Parameters List. NOTES: (1) The number of parameter lines following a frame heading must be the same as indicated by the "!n .." symbol for that heading. (2) The first two frame headings and the defaults immediately following them on the defaults file are located in the left- hand column of the DEFAULTS tab. Frames three and four are in the middle column and frames five and six in the right-hand column. ***************** Default parameters and values ******************* !5 Girder and slab properties DEF_f`cg ,Girder concrete strength (f`cg),50,MPa, DEF_f`cmt ,Girder strength at transfer (f`cmt),50,MPa, DEF_Eg ,Young`s Modulus girder concrete (Eg),35000,MPa, DEF_f`cs ,Slab concrete strength (f`cs),40,MPa, DEF_Es ,Young`s Modulus slab concrete (Es),40000,MPa, !7 Prestress factors DEF_Ds ,Strand diameter (Ds),12,mm, DEF_Aps ,Area of a single PS strand (Aps),140,mm2, DEF_Pult ,Ultimate strand breaking force (Pult),250,kN, DEF_fp ,Minimum strand tensile strength (fp),1550.,Mpa, DEF_Ep ,Young`s Modulus of PS strand (Ep),200000,MPa, DEF_Jf ,Jacking force factor (Jf),0.75,, DEF_SDLf ,Superimposed Dead Load Factor (SDLf),1.3,, !5 Creep and Shrinkage Factors DEF_u ,Shrinkage strain (u),100,microstrain, DEF_Rcf ,Residual creep factor (Rcf),0.2,, DEF_øccb ,Basic creep factor (øccb),2,, DEF_k2 ,Creep coefficient (Fig 6.1.8A) (k2),.76,, DEF_k3 ,Creep coefficient (Fig 6.1.8B) (k3),1.25,, !6 Shear and Deformation DEF_Dsr ,Diameter of shear reinforcement (Dsr),16,mm, DEF_fsyf ,Yield strength of shear reinforcement (fsyf),250,MPa, DEF_Svmax ,Maximum stirrup spacing (Svmax),300,mm, DEF_Drperm ,Allowable deflection ratio (Drperm),2872,, DEF_Ty ,Life of girder (years) (Ty),30,yrs, DEF_Ti ,Days to installation (Ti),30,days, !4 Ultimate moment check DEF_fsy ,Flexural strength of long. reinforcemnt (fsy),250,MPA, DEF_øm ,Ult. moment capacity reduction factor (øm),0.9,, DEF_Srf ,Equivalent compressive stress coeff (Srf),.85,, DEF_k1u ,Ultimate strand stress factor (k1u)(Cl 8.1.5),0.8,, !5 Ultimate Load Factors DEF_LFsw ,Ultimate factor on self weight (LFsw),1.2,, DEF_LFslab ,Ultimate factor on slab weight (LFslab),1.2,, DEF_LFsdl ,Ultimate factor on SDL (LFsdl),2.0,, DEF_LFll ,Ultimate factor on LL (LFll),1.8,, DEF_LFhvl ,Ultimate factor on HVL (LFhvl),1.5,,
